Patrik Schick van Bayer Leverkusen put on the sidelines after dijing injury for spelling


Bayer Leverkusen-striker Patrik Schick will end up with a thigh injury until mid-October in the 2-1 victory of Saturday in St Pauli, his club said Sunday.

Leverkusen issued a statement that it would be «without striker Patrik Schick in the upcoming matches», the addition of the attacker was «striving for a return for the Bundesliga Away match at Mainz on Mainz on October 18».

The attacker is missing for Wednesday’s home game with PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League, together with the Bundesliga match on Saturday against Union Berlin.

A Czech international with 24 goals in 48 games, Schick will probably also miss the qualifications of next month’s World Cup against Croatia and the Faröer.

The 29-year-old has three goals this season and an assist in five Bundesliga matches.

Unbeldtered double winners in 2023-24, Leverkusen underwent a major overhaul in the summer and is thin in front, after he had sent Schick’s one-off strike partner Victor Boniface to Werder Bremen on Deadline Day.
