Vancouver Island Trails, PCT Record feet and Canadian Culture with Spencer «Boiler» Dunn (BPR #325)

In today’s episode of Backpacker Radio presented by The Trek, we are united by Spencer «Boiler» Dunn. Boiler, is a self-described «pro-andpper», leader, former Parks Canada employee, cake enthusiast and, of course, a backpack.

Spencer takes us through his long paths of trails in Canada, including Bruce Trail, West Coast Trail, North Coast Trail and Nootka Island Trail, Journeys who took him face to face with an incredible wildlife, from bears to whales to the elusive Wolf.

We also immerse ourselves in his recent walk on the PCT: how he broke the cake record per mile, the notoriety that he won along the way, navigating people’s perceptions as a large hiker, how his walk deepened his connection with his strange identity and, of course, his hatred without capital to talk about Gear (what I do).

We wrap the program with news about the most famous in New Zealand that gets much more expensive, we address the old question of what liquids we would like to dispense from our fingers, we do the triple crown of belly pain and listen to the convincing tone of a listener to take this circus to the northwest of the Pacific.
