Day 74
Start: stealthy, mile 1399.5
END: Dirt Road, Mile 1424.3
Walked miles: 24.8 miles
This morning, I woke up with my breakfast gift from the Quincy Trail Angels. Instead of my usual breakfast, I took a peanut butter sandwich with fresh mint. Drinking the hot drink in the comfort of my store felt like a great luxury.
I started walking in the morning calm. The sky was a bit cloudy, so that kept the temperature low. My heart was not really ready to walk this morning, but I kept moving through the forest, waiting for my day to improve.
There were also many people along the way. I met a north section hiker, but that was all. Finally he arrived at the Feather River of the average bifurcation and sat down for a while, contemplating how large and beautiful the gorge was. If it had been a bit warmer, it would have been the perfect place of swimming.
The rest of the day passed without incident. I climbed along a crest and walked high for a while, the mountains spread everywhere in me.
When I finally stopped at night, it was becoming cold and windy. He had risen to the top of a bald, but he could not enjoy it because the wind was very fierce and cold. I was more than happy to crawl in my store after configuring it.
For dinner that night, I cut and cook the mini potatoes that had been endowed and added to my dehydrated food. It was perfect! He felt good to have fresh food along the way.
Then, I opened in my comforter and waited for the night to cool too much. I could see my breath, which made it more than cold enough for me.
And that is a day in the life of a PCT Sobo hiker!
