Man United grabs 1-1 WSL trekking with Chelsea as Sandberg scores stunner

Anna Sandberg from Manchester United scored an excellent equalizer while her side came out of a goal to pull 1-1 at home with Chelsea in the Women’s Super League (WSL) on Friday, while the Londoners dropped their first league points of the season.

Champion Chelsea, which has won the last six WSL titles, took the lead when Catarina’s brilliant heel set Wieke Kaptein up for a simple finish in the ninth minute.

The Swedish defender Sandberg made a ball from Ella Tone 11 minutes later and hit a first finish in the net from outside the area to note her first goal for the club since he signed from BK Haecken in August 2024.

On a wet, windy night, both parties had a number of opportunities to get a winner, but neither succeeded in finding the back of the net, and the game ended in a stalemate that leaves Chelsea Top with 13 points from five games, while United is second with 11.
