Khalid Jamil calls 23-person India team for AFC Asian Cup 2027 qualifying match against Singapore


India Senior Hen’s National Team head coach Khalid Jamil announced the 23-person team on Sunday, which will travel to Singapore for the AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifier Final Round C match against the host.

Singapore will organize India at the National Stadium on October 9.

The Blue Tigers has been training in Bengaluru since 20 September as part of their preparations for the double header against Singapore, with the home leg planned to be held on October 14 in the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Pandit in Goa.

India is currently under group C with one point from two games, while Singapore surpasses the group, with four points of so many games. The team that ends at the top of the group is eligible for the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Aarabia 2027.

Jamil, on the eve of the team’s departure, emphasized the importance of taking the remaining qualifications one competition at the same time.

«We are not looking at the general image at the moment. There are four more games to go, and the next to Singapore is now the most important thing for us,» he said. «We can’t look too far ahead – we have to go one step at the same time.»

While the Blue Tigers travel for the road game against Singapore with a 23-person team, Jamil has held two players goalkeeper Hrithik Tiwari and forward Muhammed Suhail-in Reserve for the Home Game on October 14.

«Although we travel with 23 players, we constantly keep an eye on the rest. For now, Hithik and Suhail Stand -By have been held for the two games against Singapore,» Jamil said.
