View: Thomas Muller on Doel while Vancouver Whitecaps San Jose


Thomas Muller was one of the target scorers when the Witecaps of Vancouver hit the San Jose-Early Early with 4-1 to get closer to the Western Conference of Major League Soccer on Sunday.

Former Germany and Bayern Munich Ster Muller sent a 57th minute strike home from the edge of the penalty area to continue his rich vein of goals since he moved to MLS.

The 36-year-old has scored six times in seven performances in all competitions for Vancouver, whose victory on Sunday propelled it to the joint top of the Western Conference.

Vancouver is now right at 60 points with San Diego, but has played one game less. It will conquer the conference if it wins its two remaining regular seasonal establishments.

Vancouver was on the way to Sunday’s victory after a well -edited goal by Rayan Elloumi opened the score 39 minutes before Muller doubled the lead after the break.

US International Sebastian Berhalter subsequently woosed spectacular long -term efforts in the 74th and 92nd minutes to complete the score after the 89th minute comfort from Beau Leroux for San Jose.

In the meantime, Vancouver’s victory meant that the sixth placed Austin FC and the seventh placed Portland Timbers have dressed both postseason berths.

Playoff-bound Los Angeles FC achieved his fifth consecutive victory, 1-0 in Atlanta United.

Denis Bouanga delivered the game winner in the 86th minute and shot a bent ball in the right corner for his 24th goal of the season – bind him with Lionel Messi on top of the score card.

Lafc is fourth in the Western Conference, four points of the pace, but has played two fewer games than San Diego and a less than Vancouver.
