Street protests against the government of Morocco, partially provoked by spending on Stadiums, will not change the plans for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), said the top officer of the continent on Monday.
Morocco that is building the largest football stadium in the world to host the World Cup men in 2030-has seen demonstrations this month in more than a dozen cities by young activists.
«Morocco is plan A, Morocco is plan B and Morocco is plan C,» said Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Patrice Motsepe during a press conference after the annual meeting, when asked about changing tournament plans.
Hospital of «Stadiums are here, but where are the hospitals?» have been heard during protests driven by an online collective called Gen Z 212Named after the choosing code of the country.
They protest against what they say a lack of opportunities and under -financed health and educational systems, and were supported in social media posts by national team players, including Sofyan Amrabat and Yassine Bounou.
The North African nation houses the four-week, 24-team Kopje Countries from December 21 for CAF, whose President was asked on Monday whether plans or dates could change.
«We are absolutely sure that, such as CAF, we work together, collaborate with the government … and all people of Morocco to organize the most successful (heading countries) in the history of this competition,» Motsepe said.
The first vice -president of Motsepe at CAF is Fouzi Lekjaa, the football leader of Morocco and a financial adviser for the government, who delivers some of the expected $ 5 billion expenditure on projects related to the World Cup.

Morocco was chosen by CAF two years ago to replace Guinea as the host of the 2025 tournament and will use nine locations, including the expansion of a location of 75,000 seats now called Grade Stangier, and renovation of Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat up to 70,000 seats.
Morocco is building the Hassan II stadium of 115,000 seats in Casablanca, hoping it will organize the final of the World Cup 2030 that will be hosted together with Spain and Portugal.
The 48 team tournament starts with a few games organized by South American neighbors Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay, the original World Cup host in 1930.
