Argentina will play Australia in a FIFA International Friendly on November 17 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi.
Reporter Broadcasting Company, which is organizing the match along with the Kerala government, confirmed on Monday that Australia will be Argentina’s opponent in the much-awaited friendly.
Hector Daniel Cabrera, venue manager of the Argentine Football Association, visited the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium on September 23 to inspect the facilities and assess the safety of the venue.
«More than a year ago, at our headquarters in Madrid, we initiated this project together with the Government of Kerala. AFA’s global expansion will see a new important chapter that will allow us to continue to promote our institution’s positioning as a reference for the global sports industry,» said the Sports Minister of Kerala. The two teams faced off at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, where Argentina recorded a 2-1 victory over Australia in the round of 16.
The last time Argentina played Australia was on June 15, 2023 in a friendly match, in which La Albiceleste won 2-0 thanks to goals from Lionel Messi and German Pezella.
