Leaders Bayern Munich needed more than an hour to break through the resistance of 10-man Borussia Mönchengladbach to earn a 3-0 victory in the Bundesliga on Saturday and record their thirteenth win in thirteen games in all competitions this season.
Joshua Kimmich scored after 64 minutes and substitute Raphael Guerreiro added another five minutes later before teenager Lennart Karl, who had scored in Wednesday’s Champions League win over FC Brugge, made it 3-0 in the 81st.
Bayern has a maximum of 24 points from eight league matches, five ahead of RB Leipzig, a 6-0 winner at Augsburg.
Bayern, who set a new league record with 30 goals from eight games, almost took the lead after just 55 seconds with Harry Kane combining with Nicolas Jackson to send Luis Diaz through but the Colombian missed the target.

Gladbach fell out but the game plans seemed to go out the window in the 18th minute following the dismissal of Jens Castrop, who was shown a straight red card for a studs-up challenge.
The hosts pulled away but Bayern still failed to get a single shot on or off target after Diaz missed the early chance until Kane’s weak effort in the 43rd. After the break it was one-way traffic, with Michael Olise missing a double chance in the 50th and Kane’s goal moments later causing the offside.
Kimmich finally broke the deadlock in the 64th, finding enough space in the crowded penalty area to cross home before Guerreiro doubled the lead six minutes later. Karl then curled a shot into the top corner and finished the job in the 81st for his first Bundesliga goal.
Kevin Stoeger had the chance to get Gladbach back into the match, but he sent his penalty over the post in the 75th minute. Bottom club Gladbach now has 15 league matches without a win, a new club record.
