Speed packing

One of the things in which it can be very good when you campe a lot is the time that takes you to open your eyes in the morning until you are on the road. This felt like one of those mornings. It was the first dry morning in a few days that helped motivation, and did not frozen.

I woke up at 5:32 am, and at 5:50 am, I took my first step on the road. This brilliant change was much lower than my best personal moment, I will argue that the almost 3 weeks of caloric deficit played their role in my effectiveness of the packaging. Even so, not too bad, and with the bars I showed full in my hip pocket I was ready to face the day.

Replenish

I took a good time during the first three hours of the day. I arrived at Prospect Rock, where I met Chestnut and another hiker. After a brief conversation, Chestnut and I decided to demolish the blue glow of the crest towards the city of Manchester Center. We were out of food and the city had a great supermarket, and the hitch at the end of the blue fire was only five kilometers.

Upon reaching the road, it became clear that Chestnut and I had different hitch strategies. I stayed under a shade tree and put on my thumb, while Castafnut began to walk towards the city with the thumb out. It turns out that it did not matter what methodology was used, since the first car that came, about four seconds after reaching the side of the road.

They dropped us at the door of the supermarket (Gosh, damn Americans), and we entered the emporium with big eyes and even larger bellies.

After punishing me repeatedly when the articles accidentally fell on my tram, I managed to reach the payment with a non -ridiculous amount of food, which would probably fit my backpack.

I wanted to write a couple of blogs and load my electronics, so I went to the library while Chestnut tried to get hooked on the path.

Once in the library, they offered me a courtesy snack (I mean seriously, a free snack in a library, this is becoming ridiculous), and then I found a comfortable chair next to an exit, and spent the next hour or two writing and snacks.

Winning back and bring magic

After finishing in the library, I returned to the main road, I found a shade tree and assumed my stationary hitch position, the thumb out. Fourteen seconds later, a young man in a truck stopped and threw me at the beginning of the path.

The parking lot at the beginning of the path held my favorite thing in the world, the Magic path. The father with two children was replenishing, and Kyle, the path of the path had brought all the treats for other hikers and their refueling. I was fed and watered as a main racing horse, and ended up pressing some extra food in my already overloaded package.

Monte Bromley climb

After that wonderful interlude, it was time for the final climb of the day in Monte Bromley, another of these hills in which it seems so fond of going directly instead.

I walked with a full stomach and even a more complete package, and I did about two thirds of the road when thunder began.

Luckily, I was close to a shelter, so I hurried and arrived just when the skies opened. It was a fierce and short -term storm, and I was glad of the cover I had. It ended up being a particularly fortuitous stop, since I also realized that the cabin towards which I was walking had no water source, so I could collect water after the storm passed before continuing through the large hill.

I arrived at the summit and there was a tower of fire. The view was exceptional, mountains and 360 degree forests, the first really spectacular point of view since I started eighteen days ago.

A ski heating cabin was left open during the summer for the use of hikers, so after drinking in the views for a while I directed and put my mat to sleep on the floor of the cabin with six other hikers. The cabin had power and a dryer (I know, I am at the top of a remote mountain in Vermont, and the free skiing cabin has a completely normal dryer), so after rainy days it was possible to get very cozy and dry.

After a conversation with everyone, it was time to deliver and very happy with the cabin, since it is forecast that the winds will reach 80 km/h during the night.
