This morning I got up around the usual time and packed and left before someone else stirred. I had a small climb to start the day, but I would not have much elevation gain for the rest of the day. I am finally entering the section towards the end of the Sierra and the beginning of the north of California, where the path calms down a little.
Directing the first and practically just gets out of the day.
I just had to walk for about two hours this morning until I arrived at Carson Pass. Before that I had one more climb, but it wasn’t so bad. However, I had to cross one or two snowfields, which was surprising. Then, after reaching the top of the pass, I descended to the road and the parking lot where the information center was.

My last day in the Sierra del Path. Oh, how I will miss it.

Above Carson Pass.
The lovely people who work there offer cold drinks and snacks to hikers seven days a week. I had listened to rumors that there could be Wi-Fi, although unfortunately it was not working when I arrived. But I sat down and took a soda and a donut and took a quick break. Just enough time to feed myself during the next 14 miles to get to the road, where I could get hooked to South Lake Tahoe.

Magic of the path at the Carson Pass information center!
The information center workers seemed surprised by the little time I went sitting. But I was motivated by the idea of entering the city and having a lot of time for me. And it is time to get caught in the monstrous video and writing battery that I have to do. When I left the information center, the path followed a route for a while and then crossed through another parking lot and at the beginning of the path.

The path is about to change a lot as it passes from the Sierra to northern California.
During the next mile or so, I spent a lot of day hikers that had parked and entered. I was surprised to see so many people just because this section of the path is not necessarily the most incredible. Do not be misunderstood, there are many beautiful views. But after having passed through the Sierra, it seems that there could be more beautiful places near. Although many of these areas are not so easy to park and walk.

The wild flowers were impressive this morning.
Honestly, time passed super fast today when I started addressing the city. And the path was very nice and easy. After a couple of small ups and downs, I basically reached the highest point of the day and would not have more elevation during the next few hours. That was a really pleasant feeling, and I was excited to float along the path and reach the road.

For a part of the PCT, the path continues along the Tahoe Rim Trail.
It was around 1 in the afternoon when I finally went to the road and had completed my 21 miles per day. There was another hiker waiting, trying to take a walk. It turned out that my videos followed and we had almost met in San Jacinto. For my life, I can’t remember his path of path, but I know he had the word «oats.» He was super friendly and we talked for a while while we waited to take a walk. And after maybe about 10 minutes or so, someone picked us up and took us to the city.
They left us around McDonald’s, which was fundamental for many restaurants and motels. Then I went to Apex Inn, the cheapest place in the city. I think the room ended up being $ 70 or $ 80, which is quite good. In addition, they let me register immediately so that I could drop my bag. Then I walked along the way to eat a quick bite. I could not resist the call of Taco Bell nearby. While I did that little message, I talked to my dad on the phone briefly. Then I returned to the room to shower, provide some of my clothes and evaluate my food situation.

This is the rubber chicken they gave me in Kennedy Meadows North recently, for those who asked.
Outside, Jay ended up leading to the city and met with me. I was bringing a bear can because you need one for the next few days. When you go to Desolation desert, that part of the PCT has some of the worst bears of California. It is one of the only places in the country that I would not feel comfortable without the proper food storage.
Jay also helped me get out of the grocery store, so I didn’t have to load all my things back to the room. I get enough food to get to the city of Sierra in a few days. Then, Jay also took me to a laundry and made his clothes while I was doing mine, which was very convenient. After that, I left my things in the motel and then Jay came and picked me up and took me to the lake.

Sunset on the beach in South Lake Tahoe.
There is a right recreational area in South Lake Tahoe that has outdoor seats, a bar and a small restaurant in front of the sea. We sat there and had dinner just when the sun began to wear. Which was a very good way to finish the day. It was beautiful and it is just one of those things that you cannot normally see when you are on their way.
After dinner, I returned to the room to relax and finally tried to do a job. Today it was absolutely incredible and I had a great time, I passed the time with Jay. But unfortunately, I basically had no job at all and I am incredibly very behind. Which meant that I ended up being awake until almost one in the morning trying to get at least some blogs and videos edited. Enough to try to catch up with the publication, because I am incredibly late. Finally, I just had to call him one night. And I know it will be very difficult to get up and leave tomorrow morning. Originally, I told Jay that I would love to be on the road around 7 am, but I guess I will have to see how I feel in the morning.
