PPPPPP. The military will immediately recognize this fun of all acronyms. For those strangers, previous planning prevents low performance urine.
Last night we had an updated time forecast that suggests that thunderstorms can go through the camp in the morning. With this knowledge, I packed everything in my backpack before I fell asleep, surely knowing that I could break the camp quickly and head to the cabin to avoid a wet tent.
Indeed, at 415 am the thunder and lightning arrived. Fortunately, Chestnut listened to him while he was dead in the world, and I heard him start packing in his store that was next to mine on the platform. Due to PPPPPP, I could instantly put my quilt in my backpack, then put my air mattress, put my shoes and get out of the store, break the store and fill the store at the top of the herd. Taken time: five minutes and thirty seconds from waking up to walking to the cabin. I even impressed a little.
Surely installed inside, the storm rolled and spilled. The next section of the path is above the tree line, so we now had a nervous wait to listen Clouds.
Climate
At 7 in the morning the storm had passed, so we returned to the camp to listen to the prognosis. Fortunately it was great news, with the front spending in the morning, and a pleasant incoming afternoon. With this good news, we decided to celebrate Sofia’s surprise pancakes. We put ourselves in the caregiver’s cooking area and prepare the food. Sofia was properly surprised by our efforts and we spent the morning hanging on the cabin after the pancakes waiting for the weather to clarify.
The Croo cabin fed us a remaining cake. As enthusiastic readers will point out, now I have about six days of food in my backpack and I still consume almost none of that. This is not a problem, I have found walking anywhere else in the world. It is causing me in equal concerns and hilarity.
Hiking
After almost 48 hours of excellent rest in the cabin and camp, it was time to walk once again. The output of the camp was a reasonably easy matter, and the views opened slowly once we won the crest.
The climate reasonably clear was the agenda after lunch, and after a few hours, the lake of the clouds appeared. I went to the cabin and claimed the first of the two free nights of cabin accommodation that had given me a kind hiker left by the path a few days before.
Clouds
This cabin is, with much, the most used and popular in whites. It was like entering a madman. The noise of the people was overwhelming, a house full of humanity after spending a month without seeing more than a handful of people in one place.
I coined in my bunk during the rest of the afternoon, writing some blogs and reading a book. At 6pm, Croo announced dinner and definitely didn’t need to call me twice.
The four -plates dinner was extraordinary. I chatted with my table colleagues, and I was the only hiker among several hikers during the night. This led many questions about my level of madness and why I would like to spend months at the same time in the desert.
The great part of being the only one at my table was the desire that everyone see was well fed. Great advantage of looking like a zombie. I ate so much food that I thought it would explode.
Chestnut had managed to obtain WFS in the cabin. Lake of the Clouds is the one that takes four people for WFS every night and tonight there were only two. I am curious about what more hikers are not taking advantage of dinner and free bedrooms, especially in this place three quarters of the road along Mount Washington. I can only assume that it is a combination of lack of knowledge of the program and the (general) desire of the majority of the trihers I have met to walk all day and not look for a stay in the cabin.
Too soon the food was over. I stayed with a very satisfied belly. I wonder if I will eat any of my pack food tomorrow.
