I slept in! And in a big bed. The robot vacuum cleaned around 11 p.m. last night, and disoriented disoriented to try to turn it off. They picked us up to return to the track just after 8 and we returned to the Bear Mountain campus before 9. It was a late start, but we got into the rhythm quite fast.
Bear Mountain took us a great view and restored my faith in this state. I hope to be emerging from my funk, but it’s hard to say. I really love here, but heat and exhaustion in general are sometimes knocking me down.
This section of path has minimal water, and we are going through a drought. We take a blue fire to a state park to fill the toilets of your bathroom and lunch. We both had the midday sleeping ones, so we took a small nap at the picnic table.
We cross the mile 800 today! We planned to be out of New York in one day and some changes and pa before the end of the month.
Finally, we arrive at TORATI STATE PARK. This was located at a mile of our camp, which had no water present. We fill our bottles, 2 l of CNOC bags and packet the soft drinks.
Tonight was our first official night without the stove. We are cold soaked, and it was … Good! It is so hot that I don’t want warm food anyway. Just prepare your dinner, organize the camp and then you are ready to eat! I love Ramen so much. That and a unique spam package is an ideal dinner for me. Followed by some tablespoons of Nutella, of course.
The next day it was going to be a heat warning. We did not have a lot of miles planned because the land was also quite rocky, and our water sources became more scarce.
I used my SEEK application to identify a slime mold, and I will never forget it. It is called Vomiting silt mold for dogs. Crazy and crazy name for anything. He is so vibrant and great.
The heat of the day was a fight but manageable. I took it easy and I had some additional breaks of the normal package.
We arrived at a small waterfall and each one immersed himself. We only had about four miles to our night destination, which returned to Nick’s Friend’s house! We plan to meet them in Bellvale Creamery for ice cream, then travel home with them.
None of us wanted to sleep outside in heat of 80 degrees all night. This was a welcome break. We had London’s Band and potato salad, and regular salad with watermelon for dessert. Our spirits replied. His daughter, Juliana, is my new best friend. It’s such a happy baby and even let me hug her!
Sam and Matt left us back in Creamery around 6:30 am today seemed quite easy, and we were excited! The New York/NJ border was just a handful of miles away. We started navigating some miles until we obtained our latest New York gifts.
The entire state of New York felt like purgatory. After going up and down so many small meaningless hills with little or no vision and the sky of excessive growth, we were ready to transcend beyond this place.
Almost as soon as we crossed New Jersey, we were given, even by well -maintained land and paths. It was a miracle. We were sailing at a rate of 3 mph constantly for the first time from what was felt like Massachusetts.
We arrive at the Wahayanda mountain and glimpse nebulous and smoked views. Canada’s forest fires are happening again, it seems. There were tons of one -day hikers. The famous staircase to heaven is what we have to walk. It wasn’t bad at all.
We stopped in a hot dog and ice cream to get some food.
Our camp for the night was in a shelter, and we were sure to find one with a box of bears tonight. Well tight bears are rampant in these parts, so we needed to ensure our food!
