A chewed mouse in my store

Last night I woke up around 1 in the morning with a strange sound and sensation. At first, he had absolutely no idea what was happening. Then I realized that it seemed that there was a mouse inside my store. I had no idea what to do and I wasn’t thinking very clearly. But my first motion was just to break my store. And I suppose I am the most fortunate human on earth, because as soon as I did that, the mouse was out of my store.

Then a new problem arose. How did the mouse enter my store? I wanted to believe that somehow I had to let it in when I went out to urinate before. But it was difficult to imagine a mouse wandering silently around my store while I slept. So, once I was out of my store, I put on the lighthouse and began to look around. The logical part of my brain knew that the mouse clearly chew from somewhere. I really had the hope that my store’s bathtub or any of the diema did not chew.

The beautiful dawn this morning after leaving my camp.

I spent years, looking around to discover how he got into my store. And after looking around the entire store, I still couldn’t solve it. But finally, I saw a very small hole in the insect network. Once again, I am one of the luckiest people in the world. If you have to get some tear in your store, then the insect network is the best place for that. You end with small holes in the insect network what you do. It is just a very delicate area.

I had to cross this broken catwalk. Fortunately, it was much more resistant than it seems.

Very quickly, I could get a patch and cover the hole. There have been tons of mice in the camps here in the Sierra. Probably only due to the amount of traffic at these store points. And also the fact that the most inexperienced hikers tend to leave food and things like that. I guess it was tune in in my store, it was that I had so much garbage that I would not fit in my bear boat. I still have some food and I have a very small bear can. So I had left a couple of wrappers in a Ziploc bag near the side of my store. There was no way to avoid this, unfortunately. Or I had to keep a little garbage out of the container or a little food. But I could have done one thing differently. I shouldn’t have had the rapper anywhere near the store side. If you have to sleep with perfumed items in your store, you must do it far from the walls of the store. The mouse was able to stop literally at the top of my backpack, which is outside my tent, and chew the network that way.

Heading towards Reds Meadow.

In general, I was not too annoying for all the experience. Taking into account how long I have spent backing in recent years, I am honestly surprised that this has never happened before. I have heard stories about tons of hikers. And I often wake up in the morning and I realize that I accidentally went to sleep with wrappers in my range. At least the situation was resolved very quickly. I think I could have had a different opinion especially if the mouse had not evacuated my tent immediately. I don’t know how I would have pursued it and caught it differently. Luckily for me, I immediately were when I opened the store door. After all that chaos, surprisingly I went back to sleep quickly. And I still had a few hours before I had to be awake in the morning.

Beautiful lupine that grows along the path this morning.

This morning I got up bright and early because I was very excited by the city. The path between my camp and the Prado de los Rojos was pleasant and easy and had barely an elevation gain to do. In addition, the mornings are the best time of day because they are very pleasant and great. I spent some tents and arrived at Red Meadow just around 7:30 am

I love this type of signs.

When I went to the store, a super pleasant lady called Wendy received me. She works in coffee and has apparently continued with my blog for the last two years. I was very excited to meet and it was very nice to talk to her. It was an absolute girlfriend!

If you are crossing through Reds Meadow, greet Wendy for me! She was a girlfriend and did all my day.

Usually, the first transport bus of the day arrives around 7:30 am, but apparently they have had some problems. Then, when I arrived at the store, the first bus hadn’t even come. I asked for a breakfast and I just expected the food to leave before the bus arrived. I remember it was a very long and winding path to the gigantic lakes. I just want to enter the city as soon as possible.

I felt very loved after meeting Wendy and chatting with her this morning. When you spend so much walking alone, it’s always a surprise that knows someone and speak with someone like her.

I was able to eat some food and took some photos with Wendy before the ferry arrived. Then he went up to the ferry and went through the mountain. I remember that the transport service used to take all the way to the city. Now it only takes you to Mammoth Mountain and you have to change to a different transmission. Fortunately, I actually received service at Mammoth Mountain for the first time in six days. So, while I waited for the next bus, I talked to my parents on the phone and did some planning. Then they picked me up and took me to the town, right in the center of the gigantic lakes.

A hot chocolate made with love, thanks to Wendy.

There is a tram system that passes through the gigantic lakes and is free. But when they left us at the bus stop, the car had just left. Then, on the other hand, I simply walked along the way to the motel. And I decided not to make a reservation, hoping that if I reserve in person, I could have a better opportunity to consult early. The lady of the reception was super pleasant and tried to keep her as much as possible. I don’t know if she was just a bride, or if that worked, but they recorded me before 10 in the morning.

Mount the ferry in gigantic lakes.

The hiker box in the lobby also had a lot of shampoo, conditioner and super elegant body washing. In addition to Ziploc bags, bars and a lot of other random things. Then, before 10 in the morning, my arms were full of sweets, and headed to my room.

Then the tasks began. I shower and wash my hair, which was incredible. Then I put my clothes together and foresee my socks and things. Everything was so disgust because I have not shower or washing clothes since I was on the path of the Apalaches. Then I went through my food and planned to wash my clothes and replenish.

However, one thing that did not remember about the gigantic lakes was that the replenishment is not very good. They have vons and a grocery store. The departure of groceries had a lot of super strange things, so you could not really enter with that list. And I didn’t want to get out of my way to Vons, which was later on the road. The Rite help in the city is also permanently closed. So I could not get things as contact solution, disinfectant for hands and baby wipes. And the changes in the city seem to be addressed more to hikers than through hikers. I entered one or two of them and have many things. But I couldn’t get all the things I needed.

After grabbing my refueling, some snacks and sweets for today, and everything else, I returned to the room. Then he did a little writing and video work while ate sandwiches and watching television. Once I did a little work, I went to the way to collect some Mexican food for late lunch. Then he returned to the room to relax for a long time.

I did a lot of writing work and video things. But I still have much more to do. Not having really complicates things. I do not need to have service every day to be productive and get content. But if I only have service once a week, then I will stay tremendously. It will take time to get caught after all this. Especially taking into account the little time of inactivity that I have.

Later at night, I went to a shake. I also managed to find all the other small treats that I needed in a nearby service station. I took a lot of drinks tonight and tomorrow morning. Then I returned to the room and only worked and watched television for the rest of the night.

I could not simply choose a meal. So I obtained a bean and cheese burrito and steak fajitas.

Tomorrow the first ferry outside the city and back to the Reds Meadow goes at 7:15 am so I’m going to get up bright and early to be able to have a breakfast and walk through the mile along the way to the ferry. I want to be on the way again as soon as possible. The trip took a long time, so the sooner returns to the bus, the better.
