He had about 2 miles with upholsian mug glasses to get to the cut of Happy Hill Shelter.
After that, things enlightened some. Although the air remained without breeze, it felt less loaded and more open with shielded sunlight glimpses under the canopy.
The last path bits that lead to Norwich, Vermont, were quite pleasant in a quiet and peaceful way, the great pines that leave a path full of needles. The path went to a picturesque road and was grateful for everything to be downhill.
Once in the city, I took a left of the AT route to visit the general store of Dan and Whit. And it was a general store, offering not only a good supply of groceries, but also toys, board games and local crafts. And I had a hardware section, which was my main purpose to visit. I even found the article I wanted, that surprised me, but I will show that when/if it is ever used.
The store was a bit expensive, so I did not get my complete replenishment there, but I chose some selected items, including an Arce Vermont syrup, an infused coffee, a breakfast sandwich and a twisted sugar donut full of jelly haha. I sat at the bank outside to festify, but after a little rest my Mosey sidewalk continued through the city.
From Norwich he was downhill to the powerful Connecticut river. And crossing the bridge to the other side, Sumi and I said goodbye to Vermont and we were welcome to New Hampshire!
I have been listening to how New Hampshire has the most difficult trail of the entire AT even before starting this adventure. Well, it didn’t seem so bad to start, a good sidewalk through the University City of Hanover.
Suddenly, I was walking along the Dartmouth College campus. Well, more or less, maybe on the sidelines, where he meets the city full of restaurants and extravagant stores. Students cool over all fashion and clean with backpacks of a slightly smaller wand than mine. Or maybe I only confused them with the students and they were all super ultra light hikers? This area, perhaps as much as when I went up to New York City, I felt so surreal. It was strange to come directly from the forest and, suddenly, be in the midst of elegant Hanover.
Maybe you are like me and you have heard of Dartmouth before, but I never knew that I was in Vermont or really why I knew it. All I can think is that it is an Ivy League school and has the reputation of being first category, I suppose. While crossing the bridge, the view of the river with a spring for the crew really adjusted to the image of the high distinction of the school in my mind haha. I imagine a Neblina morning, the squad shaking in the perfect unison that cut the smooth glass waters like a knife through soft butter.
The path continued through Hanover, where it would eventually come out and leave and far from the city. However, I stopped today’s excursion through the food cooperative store, a little more than a New Hampshire mile. I went for another shopping round, but here I also thought that prices were quite steep (like the mountain path ahead 😅). I was wondering where students buy. When gathering some articles, I left and headed to the bus stop.

There is the Dartmouth campus.

Do not enter … apparently do not want hikers to enter 😅
The rest of the day he dedicated himself to resting and preparing for the next section of the trip. I used my «free» hotel night that I get once a year through my credit card and it was incredible. There was a small problem because I was not registered on time (I had gotten up to an early check-in, but things were quite scruff there when I arrived), but once I shower and wash, I didn’t care. In addition, I only stayed in the lobby in the air conditioning while I hope.
That night, I was busy cleaning, organizing and writing blogs and looking towards Farout, but I also had a movie and I received a pizza delivered directly to my room. Everything was fine in my little world in the hotel room! So good and necessary to stop and regroup.
