Before climbing the trail of the Apalaches, I thought Bill Bryson’s A walk through the forest It was an intelligent title. Now after having walked around 2/3, I feel more; I feel that the essence of the path is quite well captured and approaches how it differs from the other lengths that I have walked. Maybe I have already talked about this, I’m not sure. For me, the AT feels much more a forest walk than a mountain walk, while the PCT and CDT are the last. Obviously, everyone has both, but I go to a general feeling of this evaluation.

Maybe I change your mind to the north, but today it fits the walk in the forest. It was a good shaded forest all day until the end when things opened to some fields exposed to the sun. It made me very grateful for the shadow of the green tunnel!

I should have been eager to walk again because I woke up before my alarm at 5:30 am my packing routine quickly turned me quickly and I was the first to leave the refuge at 6:00 am in fact, I didn’t see anyone else stirring. It was not too hot so early in the morning, so I hoped to take advantage and cover some land. The AT welcomed me with, shocker, uphill. I kept it slow and stable.

In the first hour I found two ticks on my legs before spraying a bit of insect sprinkling. At the end of the day, I would locate seven in my body and detect three others … one in a small blade of grass, one outside my store and another inside my store!). I thought that perhaps the herd of hikers that had happened to me during my pause could have packed by the herb covered path that these buggers like them so much, but those hopes were crazy.

In general, the path was really quite pleasant today. Above all, it was a good dirt and rock path, and only occasionally things were mistreated. There were many currents extended all day to stay hydrated on Hot Tloggy’s day too. I went through the nuclear lake. And I found a couple of views throughout the day. Another unique finding were two giant trees each with super wide bases. Very great.

I grew up calling these black raspberries. They were everywhere in our small forest patch, intermingled with poison ivy, of course. I did not eat any despite being quite sure that that was what they were. Everyone will have to confirm that they are edible before participating.

Giant tree #1

More walls of Hudson Valley Rock today!

The path became very close to some houses today.

«It’s about the cones» – Ben (Parks & Recreation)

Although I gladly accepted and I am very grateful for the Coca-Cola Classic, I am still uncomfortable with the Magic Más Cooler method. It makes me think that bears could enter there if they wanted to.

I think the previous stream must have been a nuclear Lake output and this is how the small fish were stranded there. The path wounded in the lake shortly after …

And here is the rest of the day …

Giant tree #2

Unless it is a UFO, I think the dark point in the middle of the photo is a mosquito or a fly, both have been quite frequent.

I am quite sure that this is a tick, but it seems interesting. Do I think the legs cling to the grass and the front is on par to take advantage of hikers?
