It is the baby’s monster and hat cookies and register! Here is a brief summary of our agitated agitated through Leadville.
For those who do not know, Trail Days is an important tradition in the long paths in which hikers gather to spend time with each other, celebrate their hard work and interact with brands and organizations. Trail Days Foroos is a great production, but we were not sure what to expect for our miserable multitude of sobo. It seems that sobos are forgotten in many other aspects (Farout is built in instructions and opens along the way, to name a few). Trail Daze (one day) was not an extravagance of several days as other days of paths, but nevertheless it turned out to be wonderful.
At first we were not sure if we could reach stunned since we had not built in time, and we were beginning to feel the winter that is quickly approaching in Colorado. However, while we relax in Winter Park, there was a golden opportunity when our great friend 511 was driving from Wyoming and came to pick us up on his way. We were ecstatic to meet with our lovely friend that we had not seen in a few months.
We arrived in Leadville the night before the main festivities began and we got up to date with a lot of other hikers in the hostel. We also made our mandatory stops to Melanzana and high mountain cakes! It turns out that hikers can buy in Melanzana without an appointment showing their photo of Terminus: Lucky Us!
Cookie Monster and I hurried to a hostel room with 6 other hikers, which was pleasant and cozy with 4 of us on the floor! The weather was cold (30 years) and rainy, and we were happy not to walk at the top of the mountains, where it was even colder and snowing!
The next morning, we met for a queer hiker meeting through zero Day Coffee organized by a sole called Pop. She told us that she decided to make the CDT after seeing our first blog post; That warmed our hearts to know that even a person felt inspired to start this adventure thanks to us!
Pop adorned us with flashes and pulls of the rainbow zipper. The atmosphere was so warm, genuine and cheerful.

The rest of the day was an incredible chaos! We went to a rally workshop (CDT Thru Wiker and CDTC Artist in Residence) where we made cyanotype bandans (with what the little sun was appearing) and we recorded our pot! They were both new skills for us, and we were grateful for Rally for teaching us!

We took a late lunch with other hikers and fed food since we were hungry. Then came the main event in Tabor Opera House, with suppliers, raffles and speakers! We were lucky and won/we received some more melanzana hats, a backpacking meal, a free filter, stickers, some oboz and sweet treats. It may not have been at the level of extravagance of PCT or in the days of paths, but it was great to see so many hikers together and some wonderful brands that support our efforts. We also listen to a talk from the first person to cross CDT alone in the winter! That requires a crazy level of skill, physical resistance and mental strength. How seriously inspiring!

The night ended with more high mountain cakes (yes, we went twice in two days), a pint of Ben and Jerry of the service station, and a fabulous talent show organized by Raspberry and Worry Way! These two are such creative people and know how to make things happen. A large multitude of hikers gathered outside the high mountain cakes in the torrent rain to be interpreting sketches, hypnosis and sincere songs. I even sang and touched the guitar for some songs and Cookie Monster joined one!

We leave the path stunned with complete hearts and bellies. It was wonderful to see tons of hikers who had not seen in a long time and also meet new friends!
The next morning, after two relaxing but full days, 511 left us back in Berthoud Pass, where he had picked us up, on his way to leave the radio in Grand Lake. It was time to go out again for another difficult section in Colorado!
