A very necessary night in the city after a hard fall

This morning I got up bright and early and felt energized by the possibility of going to the city. I only had 31 miles to go to the road where I can get hooked to Chester. And I only had 23 miles to reach the middle of the PCT halfway! Today is only day 41 of my walk along the PCT. Which means that I walked from Mexico to half of the 41 days. That is around 1330 miles. Which means that I have averaged approximately 32 miles per day on the PCT. I am very happy with that.

The sun had barely left when it was packed and leaving the camp. The data were having breakfast, so I said goodbye. He also plans to go to Chester today, so maybe he see it later today. However, it was nice to walk on my own this morning. It is very fun to walk with other people, but I think I am too accustomed to my own routine. At this point, I spend all my time walking only for the most part. That is something that I have really good. And I am especially good to zonify and let the time escape when I leave alone. So this morning I was eager to lower my head and crush some miles.

I was pleasantly surprised to wake up this morning feeling at least a little better after all my fall yesterday. My left hand is still incredibly painful but a little more usable than last night. I still can’t get water bottles out of my pockets or even unscrew a bottle of water with my left hand. But it does not hurt so much when it is by my side and last night. Last night I was throbbing with every step I took. Today it was quite painful and outside the limits for its use. My right hand was also quite sore, and two of my knuckles were super bruised. At least you don’t use your hands much while walking in Pacific Crest Trail. Because now I have two hands of Bum.

A surprising sunrise when I left this morning.

The train this morning was really pleasant and easy. I really didn’t have too much elevation gain to do. But I ended up obtaining some really pleasant and exposed views as the day progressed. Today was another day of walking continuously through the damage of Dixie’s burn. The PCT in this area is completely decimated. All that remains are the black remains of the trees. And the small amount of new growth that has entered the forest in recent years. I suppose the monotony of opinions somehow helped the day to spend quickly. Because time seemed to fly. I was also quite motivated to get to the city to relax.

During the morning and early in the afternoon, I spent a lot of hikers. In fact, I ended up running with Happy Meal, a hiker I met in a water cache after leaving Julian. I was hanging out and sitting with another hiker named Jay, with whom I had sent a round trip on Instagram before the meeting. It was great to see happy food again and we really ended up walking together for at least one more or less mile.

Walking through a section of the path with a lot of volcanic rock.

Then we went to another hiker who knew happy, and deviated to talk to him. After that, I only continued as always. It would pass a lot of hikers during the day. Lately, it seems that I have been playing one of my least favorite hiking games. With all the hikers I am seeing along the way, I often meet people who want to compete. Today I had two hikers who appeared very fast behind me and I spent at least 4 mph, which is totally well!

In fact, I was doing something on my phone at that time, so I was even slower. But I certainly don’t go 4 mph. So they got super fast and then advanced quite fast as well. Mine is that I want someone to happen to me or stay behind. I really don’t like walking on a train with a group of people. Especially when they are not walking together or talking to each other. I really don’t want to see or listen to anyone unless we are walking together. Maybe that is entitled to me? But it is at least my preference.

It has been a while since I saw a sign that indicates to Canada as destiny.

However, what has been having a long time lately is that an hiker will pass beyond me going 4 mph, and then almost immediately decreases speed. It’s totally well if someone wants to spend. But I don’t understand the logic of accelerating to pass someone just to reduce speed again. It’s like cars! That is as annoying on the road as on the way. If everyone simply walked to the rhythm with which they feel comfortable, then this would not be a problem. Then, a couple of people took me and then not long after that, I ended up going next to them. I asked them if they wanted to go out again because their rhythm was fast. And they seemed confused and ended up going behind me. And I never saw them again.

That has happened sometimes different now and is not my favorite thing. I don’t mind going to people along the way and I don’t care to happen to me. But I really don’t want to be bouncing back and forth. He simply takes his time and honestly feels exhausting for some reason.

The rest of the day flew absolutely. I ended up arriving at the PCT halfway just after the 1 pm which meant that I already had 23 miles of the day and was having a great time. There were actually about seven or eight hikers sitting next to the monument halfway. I asked one of them to take my photo and then continue. I was very excited to hit the next 7 miles and enter the city at night.

In the middle of the PCT in 41 days!

From there, it was basically downhill towards the road to the city. Apart from a small climb of one hundred feet here. I felt fantastic and kept my head down and keep it moving. I stopped once again to drink some water, but apart from that, I kept walking. As I approached the city more and more, I could feel a change in the wind and the temperature fell. It seemed to be a bad weather.

The closer and closer I got to the road, worse the weather turned. It seemed that any second would now begin to rain. In fact, I ended up receiving some service when I was a few miles from the city, so I checked the weather. And indeed, it was supposed to rain around 4:30 pm was on the way to reaching the road at 4 pm. Now my mission was to be sure that I got a hitch and in Chester before the rain began. It is quite difficult to make horsetop in the rain, as you imagine.

About 28 miles of the day, I felt quite tired mentally. My body felt really sore for falling yesterday. As I spent more time, I think it sets a little more. My right arm and shoulder are quite sore. My right knee is sore and very scraped. My left hand is incredibly bruised and swollen and I really can’t use it at all. And a couple of fingers in my right hand are super swollen and I can’t close those fingers at a festival. In the great scheme of things, all these are very slight injuries. But compiling with all the mileage that I am doing every day is just an additional factor.

Now today, I felt a little exhausted and ready to rest. I am so happy that Jay is connecting to Trail Angels in Chester because I could really use one day zero tomorrow! Honestly, the moment could not be better taking into account my fall yesterday. So, today, of course I am running as quickly as I can to get to the city, so I feel quite fried. But since I received service towards the end of the day, I could put a couple of videos to distract myself. And that made a big difference and really helped to spend the last 30 minutes an hour before I arrived in the city.

When I finally went to the road, the weather looked worse and worse. He was starting to hear that thunder breaks in the distance, and the clouds were very dark. But he had done it before the rain began!

The storm clouds Rodan just before arriving in the city.

And I don’t shit, as soon as my feet hit the pavement, a man parked at the beginning of the path left his car. He asked me if he was a PCT hiker and said he had driven and decided to sit and wait a few minutes to see if any of us would arrive. Then he asked me if I wanted a trip in Chester. I didn’t want anything else in the world than such an easy trip in the city.

His name was Steely Dan and has made many sections of the path. When he went through the beginning of the path today, he thought he would simply spend a little and try to take a walk to some hikers to the city. His time could not have been better. None of the hikers that I have passed through the path was very close, so it really didn’t make much sense to wait for them. Some miles had passed since I had seen someone along the way. Steely Dan took me to the city and took me to the best where the night would spend. Then he left me and went to his way. I couldn’t have worked better.

This company really contacted me and sent me part of its ramen earlier this year. They have tons of proteins and really knew very well. This is the first time I see them in the edible store. For ramen, they are expensive. But taking into account how much protein they have, I think it is worth it.

I registered in my room very fast and threw my bag. Then he crossed the street to the Pine Frosty, a classic hamburger and a battery joint in the city. They have a 32 -ounce jumbo milkshake that he desperately needed. I have a giant coffee milkshake, a cheese hamburger and cheese curd. Then he crossed the street to the service station to the side to drink some drinks for tonight. And after that, went back to the room to devour my party and start doing my homework.

I ended up taking a shower and anticipating my socks. I will probably wash the clothes tomorrow at the House of the Angel of the Path I will stay with. What saves me having to go down the laundry street tonight. After I showered, I charged things and put everything located, I decided to walk down the street to the grocery store. I wanted to get even more drinks and some random treats for tonight. And on my way back, I collected Hibachi from a restaurant right next to the hotel.

I spent the rest of the night in the hotel room as God intended. I saw television, but above all I just made a ton of video and writing edition. I am not sure how the circumstances will be in the house of Trail Angel, so I first had the voice to send text messages and videos. That way, if I don’t have a private space to make voice and another edition, then it will not be a big problem.

He felt very good to be relaxing in bed at night. My body really needed this after yesterday. And I ate so much delicious food, I drank a ridiculous amount of soft drinks and, of course, some chocolate milk.

Now, tomorrow morning, my plan is simply sleeping in the room and visiting at 11 am then I will contact the angel of the path in Chester and I will go home for the day and night. Life is good!
