AFC Champions League 2 qualifying match: FC Goa Face Oman’s Al Seeb in Knock -out collision


Indian Super League Side FC Goa returns to the Asian league on Wednesday when the Oman’s Al Seeb Club in the preliminary phase of the AFC Champions League 2 is in the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Margao, Goa.

This will be the first performance of the Gaurs in Continental Football since 2021, when they became the first Indian club that played in the AFC Champions League group phase.

It qualified for the provisional phase of this year’s tournament by winning the Super Cup last season.

But it will be a tough challenge against Al Seeb, one of the sides of Oman.

It won the Oman Professional League in the last two seasons and written history by winning the AFC Cup in 2022 (now AFC Champions League 2) to become the only Omani club that does this.

The competition is a knockout change with the winner that improves on the group stage, and for the Gaurs it is a chance to expand their continental journey for home fans.

In its last continental campaign, FC Goa earned three draw in a tough group with parties such as Al Rayyan, Al Wahda and Persepolis FC. The latter reached the quarterfinals before he lost to the final champions Hilal.
