Senegal defeated 10-team Mali 1-0 at the Grand Stade de Tanger in Tangier on Friday to advance to the semi-finals of AFCON 2025.
Iliman Ndiaye scored in the 27th minute and that proved to be the difference between the two teams in the quarter-finals. Mali had to chase the match after a red card from midfielder Yves Bissouma in extra time of the first half.
Senegal will face the winner of the Egypt-Ivory Coast quarter-final in the last four legs next Wednesday.
The Lions of Terenga aim to win their second AFCON title after their first win in 2022.
