The Africa Cup of Nations will be held every four years, following an edition scheduled for 2028, marking a major change from what is currently a biennial showpiece event, African football chief Patrice Motsepe announced on Saturday.
The president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the change as part of a significant restructuring of the sport on the continent, “to ensure that the football calendar is more in harmony globally,” Motsepe said.
