AIFF announces reward for the Indian team after AFC U-20 Ladies Asian Cup qualification


The All India Football Federation (AIFF) announced a reward of USD 25,000 for the national team of the ladies under 20 after it had obtained the qualification for the AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup for the first time in two decades.

The last time India qualified for the AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup was in 2006.

«The Federation will work closely with all stakeholders to facilitate extensive training camps and to secure high -quality international exposure for the team,» Aiff said in a release.

«The goal of the federation is not only to fit the players physically and mentally through training, but also to prepare them to rub shoulders against the best in Asia. Opportunities for the AIFF to arrange high -quality opponents to play preparatory matches are also viewed,» the body added.

The India U-20-women produced a number of beautiful versions and remained unbeaten in their group D-qualification campaign, where they played Indonesia (0-0) and Turkmenistan (7-0), before she defeated host Myanmar (1-0) for a capacity audience in the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon.

The U-20 women have been in the camp since December 2024 and have played the Pink Ladies Youth Cup in Turkiye, and defeated teams such as Hong Kong and Jordan.

In anticipation of the AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup qualifications, some of the U-20 players trained with the senior team before the young Tigresses were confronted with Uzbekistan U20s in two friendly matches in Tashent (1-1 and 4-1). Since December 2024, the India U-20 women’s team has trained for 135 days together in the preparation camp since December 2024.
