AIFF announces reward for the Indian team for qualifying for AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026


The All India Football Federation (AIFF) announced a reward of USD 50,000 (approximately RS. 42.75 Lakh) for the Indian ladies team on Sunday after it had obtained the qualification for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026.

The Blue Tigresses defeated 2-1 2-1 on Saturday with 2-1 in their last group stage to qualify for next year’s competition in Australia.

Earlier India registered emphatic victories against Mongolia (13-0), Timor-Leste (4-0) and Iraq (5-0).

«Although the results may have appeared seamlessly on the field, they were the highlight of sustainable planning and development efforts in recent years. There were no shortcuts for success-this performance the result of a long-term vision and structured preparation,» Aiff said in a statement.

Vooruit Pyari Xaxa led the goals in the goalscores for the team with five goals, which she all scored in the opening match against Mongolia.

The Asian Cup next year will also serve as a qualification for the World Cup World Cup in 2027 and the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028.
