AIFF confirms that IWL 2025-26 will be played in two phases

The Indian Women’s League (IWL) will be played in two phases at the request of participating clubs, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) announced on Monday.

The decision was made after a meeting with all eight clubs on October 30, the association said in a statement.

The first phase of the competition will run from December 20, 2025 to January 6, 2026, while the second phase will take place from April 20 to May 10, 2026.

The AIFF said the fixture list was being revised “with a significant number of players involved in the international assignments of their respective clubs and national team commitments.”

East Bengal are the reigning IWL champions.
