AIFF urges clubs to release players for India Camp for Cafa Nations Cup

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) insisted on Friday at various Indian Super League (ISL) clubs to work together and to release their respective players for the current Indian Men’s National Team Camp for the upcoming Cafa Nations Cup.

The Indian team, led by newly appointed coach Khalid Jamil, started camping in Bengaluru on Friday. It will continue until August 25.

“The AIFF appreciates the collaboration of Jamshedpur FC for the release of Khalid Jamil despite a continuous tournament – a gesture of national importance.

«The Alff is insisting on all clubs to release national team players for this crucial assignment, which also prepares the team for the upcoming AFC Asian Cup 2027 qualifications against Singapore,» the body said in a statement.

Among the players who still have to come to the camp, there are seven of the Indian Super League champion Mohun Bagan Super Giant, while three come from East Bengal, who are currently both participating in the Durand Cup.
