After finishing the GR21, I did nothing for a few days. It was surprising to let my body rest and have any particular place that is not to be with the family. The path was never too insulating in terms of popularity, and it was not too long, so returning to the general presence of others and the normal routine was not so discordant. Okay, I was still on vacation so that the feelings are much more thoroughly when I returned home from the Skye path.
Preparing for the Skye path
I met my friends in Glasgow after all our groceries came out and bought during the next few days. They brought with them some dehydrated meals of the states, which was a shipment of absolute God. The weight saved simply to go to those of wet meals felt incredible in my back. We rejoice collectively because of this, together with the celebration of the fact that we will have the ability to stop in the cities that are on the way to the path for some meals if something goes wrong.
We also make sure we supply the essentials that I did not have in the GR21. Smid for mosquitoes and error networks because we all read that they can be an extreme discomfort. We also have fuel! Although it was hot enough in the GR21 that was fine with cold meals every time I could get them, the Skye path will be significantly colder and it would be good to have hot meals. Actually, it is something wild that is not even colder than it is in Skye. As for latitude, Skye is almost completely north of Labrador, I think it is simply by warm air or oceanic currents that prevent it from being a much more desolate region.
Discussing the Million of the Path and the daily elevation gain, I feel much better with the SKYE path than the GR21. Although the Ish Ridge trotter will have a crazy grain, the general rhythm of 12 miles and approximately 1.5-2k feet of profit per day feels much better than when I started the GR21. We will also be walking through Nobo, so we will not have to find it until the end of the walk. At that time, I am almost certain that our legs will adapt to the daily hiking process with profits.
Mental preparation
I really have no idea how I pushed through some points of the GR21. In its simplest way, stopping that I did not get anywhere and out of being liberal with breaks for my own body, it was not an option to give it if it was physically completely capable of reaching the destination for the day. I think this will be much more nuanced this time. Although having friends closely makes us easier to encourage each other to move on, it can also mean that if any of us are having a bad time, it can become all of us having a bad time. I do not think that happens here, but we will only have to be attentive and open with the way we feel to make sure it does not happen.
However, it seems that we will be blessed with an incredible weather window, which significantly increases the possibilities that this is an incredible walk. I even bought a book for this trip because I realized that I severely lacked some entertainment in the GR21 after having six hours for me after ending the day at 2 pm because I had been walking from 6 in the morning. Unfortunately, I have already read a part of the book and it is horrible, but at least it is horrible in that way that you read it for the audacity of how horrible it is. In addition, we have a chribbage table and cards, and how can any backpackers go badly when you have that?
