Argentina started Sti 2025 Copa América Ladies on a positive note and beat a 1-0 in the independent sports city of the Valley in Quito, Ecuador on Tuesday.
The first half could hardly separate the two sides, with the Albiceleste a light edge.
Florencia Bonegundo had the best chance of half when she caught the opposition goalkeeper out of position and she kept the ball on goal, who was cleared by Angela Gomez van de Lijn.

The impasse was finally broken in the 75th minute, when Bonsegundo lobed the ball from an assist from Agostina Holzheier, who had come from the bank 10 minutes earlier.
The night of Uruguay went from bad to worse when Wendy Carballo was sent away, 10 minutes from time. In the next round, Argentina plays Chile, while Uruguay is looking for a turn against Peru.
Both games will be played on Friday.
Ecuador beats Peru 3-1
Later Ecuador was secured the first victory in the ladies of Copa América by defecting Peru 3-1 in the independent sports city of the Valley.

Bilcape finally got her name on the score sheet when she sent a low cross of canals on the right in the bottom corner of the goal of Andrea Morán.
But the strike of Ligia Moreira during the interruption time brought the competition to bed with a 3-1 victory for the hosts.
With four points in two games, Ecuador now leads group A and will rest the weekend before he will be confronted next Monday, July 21. Peru, on the other hand, will be confronted with Uruguay on Friday (July 18), because both parties are looking for their first victory in the tournament.
