Hector Daniel Cabrera, location manager of the Argentina Football Association, visited the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium on Wednesday to inspect the facilities and to assess the safety of the location.
The stadium will organize Argentina during his visit to Kerala in November this year.
He was accompanied by Kerala Sports Minister V. Abdurahiman and officials of Reporter Broadcasting Company (RBC), which sponsors the visit of the Argentina team to Kerala. Hector later held conversations with the Minister of Sport and RBC officials.
The opponent for the friendly match against Argentina has not been completed. The RBC has had preliminary discussions with some countries and among them Australia has responded positively and has shown interest to play against Argentina in Kerala.
A definitive decision about this will be made soon.
