Arsenal captain Odegaard was sidelined for weeks due to a new injury

Arsenal midfielder Martin Odegaard will be out for a few weeks with a knee problem, manager Mikel Arteta said on Friday as the Premier League leaders returned from the international break, with several key players dealing with injuries and a lack of form.

Arsenal captain Odegaard, who was sidelined for two weeks last month due to a shoulder injury, is the club’s fourth player currently out with a knee injury after Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz and Noni Madueke.

«It will take weeks. There is no definitive date for his return yet. But he is evolving well. It is very unfortunate what is happening to him,» Arteta told reporters ahead of Saturday’s visit to Fulham.

«I think he’ll be back in a few weeks… but we’ll have to see how he’s doing, how his knee is feeling. It’s too early to get an answer.»
