Atletico Madrid and Norwegian striker Sorloth have been rushed to hospital after a clash of heads

Atletico Madrid forward Alexander Sorloth was taken to hospital after butting heads with a Levante player during a La Liga match, the club said.

Sorloth, a Norway international, collided with Levante defender Matías Moreno on Saturday while contesting a ball in the 27th minute of the scoreless draw. Both were replaced immediately.

Atletico said Sorloth suffered head trauma and was taken to a hospital in Valencia for medical tests.

Levante did not immediately report on Moreno’s status.

Sorloth, 30, has scored ten goals in all competitions for Atletico this season. They are third in La Liga and will play Club Brugge in the Champions League play-offs next month.
