Hello!
Can you believe it? More info: gfdyhfd6. It’s almost hiking season. I uploaded about half of the AZT last fall, and as some of you may know, my goal is to finish most of what’s left of the AZT next March. We left last year in Superior and are planning to continue there and head south. I’m a little nervous and I have to admit the excitement hasn’t kicked in yet, but I bet it will in the next few weeks. I’ve been taking walks to get fit every weekend. Last weekend we went up to Steiner Butte here in southern Oregon. Last Friday I went to Castle Crag State Park in Northern California and hiked around a bunch of rock outcroppings with incredible views of Mount Shasta. That one I still have to get to the top. I’m planning to upload it when I’m 12 years old. LandSlide did it in 2024!
I don’t have all my gear figured out yet, but here’s my preliminary list:
Wapka Durston 30 liter backpack
Kelty 20 degree sleeping bag.
Thermorest NeoAir XLite
Through the C-noc bottle
Vesika by C-night
Mini Nalgene
Sunhoodie (I have no idea what brand. Sorry.)
I don’t know what kind of clothes I’ll be wearing, so there’s nothing here. But I’ll know in March.
taupe sneakers
REI sun gloves
Hyperlight clothing bag
Hyperlight food bag
Side luggage rack
good sunglasses
Look
Sea to Summit Inflatable Pillow
Bare Minerals Facial Sunscreen
trucker hat
MP3 player
Apple Wired Headphones
So I think that’s all my gear except the clothes.

Last fall I had 3 goals to try to complete.
#1 Getting to know a Tramilia
#2 See a horney lizard
#3 Don’t get too angry with my mom for making me carry excess water
I made them all, so go ahead! ha ha ha. This year I’m also going to set some goals for myself. I only have two so far, so if you have any ideas for me, leave me a comment and I’ll get back to you.
#1 Do not receive more than 3 blisters
#2 Get to Mexico in one piece

For any of you who are deep into winter mode, I encourage you to get outside for 10 minutes each day and enjoy nature. I know there’s a lot going on in the world these days, but there’s nothing like Mother Nature to relieve stress. If anyone is doing the AZT this March, please leave a comment at the end and I’ll keep my eyes open for you along the way!
See you there
