To sum up the day, it was mostly a holiday of suffering. For the first two miles, I was cruising, and then I hit rock gardens, which slowed me down tremendously, and then the trail started to climb, which has been slowing me down because I still get motion sickness on the climbs, but then it was uphill over rock gardens with wet leaves, and I could barely make any headway. I have to admit, I spent most of the day thinking about all the things it would be better to do at home instead of being on the road today. …
