Bangladesh beats a higher ranked Myanmar in AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 qualifications


The national team of Bangladesh Ladies defeated a higher ranked opponent in Myanmar on Wednesday with 2-1 in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 qualifications at the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon.

Bangladesh is currently 128th in the world, while Myanmar is the 55th.

Win Win scored a late goal for the host who turned out to be comforting, because the brace of Ritu Porna Chakmas was sufficient to consolidate the position of the Bengal tiger tines at the top of group C with six points from two games.

Bangladesh then faces Turkmenistan in his final qualification, because the group winner goes to next year’s tournament in Australia.
