Bayern Munich finally lifted the Bundesliga trophy after adding to their goalscoring record with a hat-trick from Harry Kane on Saturday.
Kane’s fourth hat-trick this season took his tally to 36 goals – five fewer than Robert Lewandowski’s 2020-2021 league record – in Bayern’s 5-1 final round defeat by Cologne.
Tom Bischof and Nicolas Jackson also scored.
Bayern finished with 122 goals, easily surpassing the previous Bundesliga record of 101 set by the 1971-72 Bayern team that included Franz Beckenbauer and Gerd Müller.
Leon Goretzka, who leaves the club after eight seasons, scored the record-breaking goal with five rounds left to play.
“We have a great group, great solidarity, and to celebrate successes with that is great,” said Bayern sports board member Max Eberl after his second league title with the club.
With the exception of Bayer Leverkusen’s remarkable unbeaten domestic season in 2024, Bayern have won every Bundesliga since Borussia Dortmund won back-to-back titles in 2012.

French winger Michael Olise, who scored 15 goals and added a further 22 in 32 appearances, was named Bundesliga ‘Player of the Season’ on Saturday in what turned into a day of celebration for the Bavarian superpower.
Vincent Kompany’s team clinched the title with four rounds to go, but the players had to wait until Saturday to get their hands on the salad bowl trophy.
Manuel Neuer, the captain who extended his contract with the club for another year on Friday, handed the trophy to Goretzka to hoist skywards, leading to an explosion of confetti and the ubiquitous Queen hit ‘We Are The Champions’ blaring as the celebrations began.
The traditional beer showers soon followed as giant jugs full of beer were brought to the field and anyone unlucky enough to be dry became a target. Bayern defender Dayot Upamecano doused Kompany before the rain-soaked coach managed to join his relatives on the sidelines.
«I would say today it’s okay to celebrate a little bit,» said Bayern midfielder Joshua Kimmich. “Then we still have another week and then we can fully focus on the cup final.”
Bayern will play defending champion Stuttgart in the German Cup final in Berlin’s Olympiastadion next Saturday.
