The end of my walk began a new chapter of my life. It seems that my future is in my hands now. Throughout my life to this point, I had a plan to follow. Now it is up to me to sink or swim as an adult. One of my greatest hope for my future is to surround me with related people. As an introverted person, I also need to push myself out of my comfort zone to meet people. Recently I had the opportunity to attend the Runningman Festival. It was a weekend full of race, recovery, connection and lessons that I will take with me advancing.
Connection
Runningman attracts an audience of people who are invested in their health and become the best versions of themselves. I have to listen to inspiring speeches in the event. Maya Raichora is Nike’s first mental physical conditioning coach. She trains athletes and elite ceos. She gave Runningman speech about visualizing success for you. She encouraged everyone at the audience to choose a word in her head like her own mantra for the weekend. I chose «courage» because I made a concerted effort to start conversations with strangers in the event to make new connections.
I met Ulrarunner Matt Johnson, who is about to cross Texas!
Ben Nemtim was another speaker at the event. He shared his remarkable life story. He went from fighting with depression and without money in his name, to raise enough money to renew a caravan with three friends, to travel around the world to mark 100 articles in his list of collective desires in the last 20 years. They dreamed big. They go to a commercial trip to outside space next year. They made their way through the bureaucracy, never took a no for response, until they could play basketball with Barack Obama. They also helped others fulfill their dreams, such as giving a girl with a prosthetic hand that was born with one hand. Ben emphasized that anything is possible. Instead of thinking why we can’t do something, we must think about how we can. One of the most moving points of his speech was that in his death beds, people most commonly repent that they did not, instead of things they did. Ben inspired me to do everything possible to live without regret.
One of my weekend’s favorite parts was to listen to Jesse Itzler to speak. I admire it a lot. He is a successful businessman, runner and positively influences thousands of people worldwide. He turned on everyone for the event. In fact, his speech motivated me to run a 50K instead of the 10K that I registered.

Run
It was an incredible atmosphere to execute a 50K. The course was a mile loop. There was an aid station at the beginning of the circuit with everything I needed during the race. There were people on the track all day, encouraging each other. I shared miles with several other runners. I was very happy with how my legs remained during the race. I was prepared to stop at less than 50K, since I had not run that distance in a few years, but my legs felt good. The legs of the paths are transferred to run.

After finishing 50k!
Recovery
I took advantage of the recovery tools in Runningman to which I normally have access. They had the «largest sauna in the world», many cold bathtubs and standard boots. I used all three after my 50K, and my legs were barely sore the next day.

What follows?
I am in the stage of the interview for several work in cold parts of the country with great mountain access. I hope to get a job soon. Moving to a new place and starting my career feels like monumental steps in my life after the path. I am excited to face new challenges: learn to put my titles to work, put myself up to people and adapt to get away from the family. My experience in AT gives me confidence that I will be fine. As in Runningman, being brave will be a guiding principle for me for the rest of my life.
