Borussia Dortmund Signs Carney Chukwuemeka on Permanent Deal of Chelsea


Borussia Dortmund has announced the signing of former Chelsea midfielder Carney Chukwuekmeka on a permanent transfer. Chukwuekmeka has signed a contract that will hold him in Signal Iduna Park until 2030

.Borussia Dortmund’s Summer Premier League Recruitment Drive continued on Tuesday with the signing of midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka from Chelsea until 2030.

Representative of England under the age of 21 Chukwuemeka, 21, joins for a reported reimbursement of 25 million euros ($ 29 million).

He spent the second half of last season on loan in Dortmund, while he stayed while the club made the quarterfinals at the Club World Cup.

Chukwuemeka played 17 times for Dortmund in all competitions, scored once and impressed despite struggling with injury.

In a statement, Chukwuemeka said that he was: «Happy Borussia Dortmund is now my football house. I will give everything to ensure that we achieve our goals as a team».

Chukwuemeka, born in Austria, moved to England at a young age and came through the youth academy of Aston Villa before he signed at Chelsea in 2022.

Dortmund -sports director Lars Ricken said that the club was ‘pleased’ to sign Chukwuemeka, which ‘increases the quality and creativity of our attacking midfield’.

Dortmund also signed Jobe Bellingham from Sunderland and Yan Couto from Manchester City this summer.

German tabloid Bild reported on Tuesday that two other main teachings of the Premier League could arrive on Monday before the Deadline Day -Chelsea -defender Aaron Anselmino and Wolves striker Fabio Silva.

The winger Jadon Sancho from Manchester United, who had two previous Stints at Dortmund and has just ended a loan period at Chelsea, is also linked to a return to the Westfalenstadion.

On Tuesday morning Dortmund extended the contract of coach Niko Kovac by one year until 2027.
