Botafogo appointed Davide Ancelotti, the son of Brazilian head coach Carlo Ancelotti, known as new manager, the Brazilian club on Tuesday.
The 35-year-old Ancelotti, who served as an assistant of his father in Bayern Munich, Napoli, Everton and most recently Real Madrid, has signed a one-year contract with Botafogo.
Ancelotti really left at the end of last season at the end of last season, and he was also announced last month as an assistant coach at the National Team of Brazil.
Last week, Botafogo fired manager Renato Paiva after the FIFA Club World Cup exit, despite the fact that Paiva led the side to a victory over Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain earlier in the competition.
The Paiva team went out in the round of 16 phase with a 1-0 loss after extra time for colleague Brazilian club Palmeiras, and the manager was shocked by the club’s decision after four months.
