Brazil received his search for a ninth ladies Copa America-Kroon on a winning start with a 2-0 win over Venezuela on Sunday in Quito.
Venezuela created the better early chances with Dayana Rodriguez who tried her happiness from a distance with a powerful long -distance effort that went wide and Barbara Olivieri went closer after a corner.
Brazil got the breakthrough just after half an hour with Amanda Gutierres who finished a well -processed movement that started with the deep cross from Isadora Haas to Giovana, who set up the striker to go home.
Venezuela pushed hard for the equalizer after the break, and had to save Brazilian goalkeeper Lorena to deny a long -distance effort from Deyna Castellanos and a header from Verónica Herrera.
Venezuelan keeper Nayluisa Caceres was also kept busy and prevented Brazil from increasing his leadership by saving the free kick from Duda Sampaio.

The defending champion sealed the victory when Sampaio turned the header of Giovana with a brilliant finish two minutes before the end.
«I am happy with the victory because it was a very difficult match, the quality of the Venezuelan team was surprising,» said Sampaio. «South American teams have improved in quality.»
The victory took the record of Brazil in the competition for 48 victories, 1 draw and two defeats from the 51 games. It was also the seventh consecutive victory over Venezuela in the tournament.
Brazil is facing Bolivia on Wednesday, while Venezuela meets Colombia in their next group B matches.
