Bruno Fernandes set another personal record when he opened the score for Manchester United in his Premier League collision against Chelsea, in the Old Trafford Stadium on Saturday.
The Portuguese playmaker received a cup of cross from Patrick Dorgu and hit Filip Jorgensen to break the impasse in the 14th minute. The strike was given to the Red Devils after a VAR check. It was Dorgu’s first target contribution for United, while for Fernandes it was his 100th goal for the club in all competitions.
He became the 19th player who reached that milestone for the club, on a list of club legends such as the Holy Trinity of United bobby Charlton, Dennis Law and George Best and Modern Greats such as Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Fernandes, 31, joined United of Sporting CP in 2020 and won the League Cup and the FA Cup under Erik ten Hag. Now the captain plays the party, he plays his 200th Premier League match, against Chelsea.

United had a bumpy start to the 2025-26 season after a forgotten spell under Ruben Amorim in the last campaign, where it ended outside the top 10.
Although Amorim had claimed that ‘good days are coming’, the club has lost to the fourth division, Grimsby Town in the League Cup and the manager remains busy with only one victory in the Premier League so far.
