Carlos Cuesta wrote history when he was appointed manager of Serie A Side Parma on Thursday. The 29-year-old became the youngest manager in the Italian top flight series in almost a century and the second-jongest in general.
Originally from Spain, Cuesta started his coaching career at the academic side of Atletico Madrid. He joined Arsenal in 2020 and worked for five years as an assistant coach under manager Mikel Arteta.
Parma announced that Cuesta signed a two -year contract with the option of a third year.

Cuesta has experience in Italy and has been an assistant coach for two years at the Under-17 team of Juventus. He also worked with the youth teams of Atletico Madrid.
Cuesta will be 30 years old, 26 days old when he goes the Dugout for Parma’s first game, coincidentally also against Juventus.
Former Parma coach Cristian Chivu left the club last week, after he sent the team to the Serie Safety to take over at Inter Milan.
