Jude Bellingham scored his first goal since June as Real Madrid defeated a stubborn Juventus on Wednesday and maintained their 100 percent record in this season’s Champions League with a 1-0 win at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The goal was created by Vinicius Jr, who took on three Juventus players in the 58th minute and created space to shoot. His effort bounced off the post for Bellingham to score his first goal of the season since returning from shoulder surgery.
Juve, who share the record with Ajax for most wins against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu in European Cup matches, are winless since September 13 and have gone seven consecutive games without a win in all competitions.
They have secured just two points from three Champions League games, while Madrid have nine points.
After a slow first half, the game came alive in the second half, with the game swinging from one end to the other.
Dusan Vlahovic spurned a golden opportunity to put Juventus ahead when he ran across half the pitch onto a through ball, leaving the last defender, Eder Militao, behind, only to see his shot saved by the outstretched leg of goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
