Juventus recorded their first home win in this season’s Champions League but were left in contention before beating Pafos 2-0 at home on Wednesday thanks to second-half goals from Weston McKennie and Jonathan David.
The sides were level on points going into the match, and Pafos proved more than a match for their more illustrious Italian opponents for long periods.
The first half brought many chances but no goals, with Pafos creating the biggest danger and Juventus going in at half-time to boos from their own fans.

Benfica’s Richard Rios scored one goal and set up another to seal a crucial 2-0 win over Napoli on Wednesday, boosting the Portuguese side’s hopes of reaching the knockout stages of the Champions League.
The result reignited Benfica’s European campaign, recording a second successive win after a poor start and moving them to six points and into 25th place, just one point outside the play-off spots. Meanwhile, Antonio Conte’s Napoli dropped to 23rd place with seven points.
Benfica, led by Jose Mourinho, dominated the opening exchanges as Nicolas Otamendi headed home six minutes in before Napoli goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic was called into action and made a brilliant one-handed save to deny the hosts after 11 minutes.
The breakthrough came in the 20th minute when a floating cross fell into a crowded area, with Franjo Ivanovic’s knockdown sparking a melee to which Rios reacted quickest, sending in from close range to put the hosts ahead.
Benfica doubled the lead five minutes into the second half when Rios curled a perfect ball across the penalty area for Leandro Barreiro, who fired across his marker and produced a smart finish inside the near post.
