Champions League holder Paris St-Germain will be confronted with Bayern Munich and Barcelona in the competition phase of this season, while record 15-way winner Real Madrid Manchester City and Liverpool will meet after the trekking on Thursday produced various Blockbuster collisions.
PSG will also accept the Premier League parties Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United, together with Atalanta and Bayer Leverkusen, in the extensive competition phase format that was introduced last season. Each club plays eight games – four at home and four away.
Real Madrid will meet Manchester City for the fifth consecutive season and will also travel to Liverpool in what will be home for Trent Alexander-Arnold, the full-back of England who left Anfield to join the Spanish club this summer to the Spanish club. Madrid will also organize Juventus and will be confronted with a long journey to the east to Kazakhstan, where the debutant Kairat Almaty assumes, who surprised Celtic in the play -offs.
The League phase table topper Liverpool of last season was pulled against Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid and Eintracht Frankfurt, while Bayern Munich is dealing with Chelsea, Arsenal and Club Brugge.
The city of Pep Guardiola was linked to Borussia Dortmund, Leverkusen and Napoli, together with trips to Spain to play real and Villarreal.
Last season Inter Milan will organize Liverpool and Arsenal while traveling to Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid.
Barcelona, La Liga champion and semi -finalist last season, organizes PSG and visits Chelsea and Newcastle. Arsenal, also a semi -final previous term, will meet Atletico Madrid and Club Brugge, but the most famous opponent will be Bayern Munich – one side for which he stands 14 times and wins in the last five meetings.
The Premier League has the most representatives with six clubs: the top five of last season – Liverpool, Arsenal, City, Chelsea and Newcastle – Plus Europa League winner Tottenham. The competition phase starts on September 16, with 36 teams participating in eight competition days until January 28. The knockout rounds start in February and the final will be organized on 30 May in the Puskás Arena in Budapest.
Chelsea received a special prize for becoming the first club to won the Champions League, Europa League, Conference League, Super Cup and the now defined Cup winner’s cup.
Former Sweden -striker Zlatan Ibrahimović received the UEFA President’s Award.
