Chelsea confirmed that Lauren James will be put aside «for a certain period» due to an injury that the attacker sustained while England helped the European women’s championship last month.
The announcement of the team on Wednesday makes James doubt for the Super League seal opener of the Women’s Super League against Manchester City on 5 September at Stamford Bridge.

The 23-year-old James left the Euro 2025 final against Spain shortly before half-time with a right ankle injury. Chelsea has not given up a timeline for her return.
«James is now back at Chelsea and will undergo a period of rehabilitation with the club,» said the team’s announcement.
James fought against injuries last season, but still helped Chelsea to win his sixth consecutive WSL title on the way to a domestic Treble.
