Chelsea defender Colwilll says that Club World Cup will be larger than Champions League

Chelsea defender Levi Colwill said that the club world will be larger than the Champions League after his party defeated the European Paris St Germain champion 3-0 in the final in New Jersey on Sunday.

The four -yearly competition returns in 2029, the second edition under the extensive format with 32 teams.

«This is the biggest trophy I have ever won. I think the Club World Cup will be larger than the Champions League, and we were the first team to win,» said the 22-year-old Colwill.

«I really enjoyed it every four or five days of playing games. Playing sold out stadiums, playing against different teams that you would normally never get the chance to play.»

The international of England said that Chelsea would bring the momentum forward, after he had defeated a phenomenal PSG side that had only admitted one goal in the tournament before the final.

«At the start of this tournament, I said that our plan is to win it, and people looked at me as if I was crazy. So I am going to say exactly the same thing that the Premier League and Champions League now entered,» Colwill said.

Chelsea has won the Champions League twice, in 2012 and 2021.
