Chelsea goalkeeper Hannah Hampton will be out for a few weeks after suffering a thigh muscle injury during last week’s 1-1 draw with London rivals Arsenal, manager Sonia Bompastor said on Friday.
The 24-year-old, England’s Euro 2025 hero, was left out of Chelsea’s 6-0 group stage win over Austrian side St. Polten earlier this week, with Switzerland’s Livia Peng replacing her in the squad.
“We’ll see if we can see her before the end of the year, but I’m not sure,” Bompastor told reporters ahead of Sunday’s Women’s Super League away trip to Liverpool.
Hampton could miss England’s friendlies against China on November 29 and Ghana on December 2, Bompastor added.
