Chelsea has agreed to sign the English winger Jamie Gittens of Borussia Dortmund, said the Bundesliga club Thursday, with the 20-year-old to sign a seven-year contract in a movement that is reportedly worth 55 million pounds (USD 75.02 million).
The clubs are currently in the United States for the World Cup club, where they both reached the quarterfinals, and the agreement was concluded in Fort Lauderdale, with contractual details to be arranged.
Gittens came to Dortmund as a youth player from Manchester City in 2020, and made his senior debut in 2022 and made 107 performances for the German side in all competitions and scored 17 goals.
«The career of Jamie Gittens is an example of the development of top talents in Borussia,» said Dortmund director Lars Ricken Ricken in a club statement.
