FC Goa secured a record-extending third Super Cup title after beating East Bengal 6-5 on penalties in the final at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Margao on Sunday.
Substitute Sahil Tavora put away his penalty in the sudden death penalty after Mohammad Rashid and PV Vishnu fired their spot-kicks over the crossbar to seal Goa’s win in front of the jubilant home fans.
The victory not only helped FCG defend its title, but also helped it seal the continental position in the AFC Champions League 2 for next season.
