Leon Bailey and Jonathan Russell scored shortly before half-time and led Jamaica to a Come-From-Behind 2-1 win
On Friday in a Concacaf Gold Cup match in San Jose, Calif.
Guadeloupe jumped a goal from Thierry Ambrose at the top in the 32nd minute, but it could not keep the management.
The result was needed for Jamaica (1-1-0, 3 points), who had lost his opening match in Group C on Monday to Guatemala with 1-0. Later on Friday, Panama (2-0-0, 6 points) registered a 1-0 win over Guatemala (1-1-0, 3 points).
Guadeloupe (0-2-0, 0 points) is the last in the group.
In the 41st minute, Warner Brown’s square pass compiled over the top of the 18-year box Bailey for a left shot from just above the penalty spot. Bailey shot the ball in the net to the right of Guadeloupe goalkeeper Brice Cognard to level the score at 1.
Jamaica went in front in the fourth minute of the first half of the stop time. Demarai Gray dribbled in the box from the left flank and delivered a cross that bounced Russell once.
The goal of Ambrose was the result of a well-processed routine for the Kick-Kick, while he took a pass in the 18-year box of Noah Cadiou and rolled the ball into the left corner.
Jamaica will be confronted on Tuesday with Panama in Austin, Texas, at the same time that Guadeloupe will resist Guatemala in Houston.
