Forests north of «pastures» to the shelter of Mount something

Most of the walk of the day would be a landscape and a trace similar to what I had yesterday, a good shaded forest walking. The main exceptions were a seap walk through a wetland in the morning and around the lunch that reached the powerful Housmile and Housatonic rivers. The rivers were a welcome change.

Here is the morning section …

This is the Train of the Train of the Apalaches (right on the road) that will take it directly to Manhattan.

Nothing like a field covered with vegetation to cross in the morning so that the shoes are soaked 😅

It was very humid today. I was shining sweat all day, my completely saturated shirt. Therefore, at 8:49 am, I did not have a dry cloth to clean the camera lens of my phone (hence the blurred photo).

Breakfast after second to lunch …

When I left the shelter where I took the second breakfast, there was one of those «little libraries.» I opened some books with the hope of finding an inspiring appointment at random, but today there is not so much luck. Next time.

It seems that sometimes this can be a treacherous crossing, but not so much today.

Connecticut! Let’s go 😎. You finally feel good out of New York if I’m honest.

These are the states in which I have walked so far (usually from south to north) …

  • Florida
  • Alabama
  • Georgia
  • Tennessee
  • North Carolina
  • Virginia
  • W.V.
  • Maryland
  • Pennsylvania
  • New Jersey
  • New York

Near lunch, I arrived at the confluence of the Tenmile and Housatonic rivers. It looked like a lovely place for a quick dip, so I dropped my backpack, I took off my shirt, shoes, socks, glasses and got into 😁. I managed to find a small hole and put the whole body. Very nice on such a hot day!

Working in Yosemite National Park and living in Tuolumne Meadows for 2024, something super common to do (he had a 6 -day streak at one point), was to find a swimming hole and jump. It always seemed fun when someone threw the question, «fast sauce?» Or maybe «» Dippy fast? «It was also common,» fast hack? «That he was referring to Harkky Sack, it is also common.

I diverted slightly to see the bridge of the bulls and then found a small terrace for lunch.

Camp lunch …

During my pause, when I started looking at my return to the path, I could not help seeing the prognosis during the first days. Initially, today it was predicted today in 80% rain, but as it approached, that percentage continued to fall. This morning, he showed that the day himself would probably be clear, but some storms would pass at night. While walking, I was watching that forecast and seemed to be a call close to the camp before hitting.

I arrived just in time for the area of the Refugio del Monte something. I went first there, so I had the selection of my place of the night. Even with the open shelter right there and a storm almost on me, I chose my store. Jumping to action, I settled and hid inside. The rain began when I was crawling inside. As I advanced, I quickly saw my mistake … I settled in a place with poor drain that was quickly becoming a pond!

I was going down so much and filling so fast that at one time I left and left aside a rotten record that acted like a dam. Of course, the rain picked me up even more when this maneuver was underway, so I panicked and took refuge under the nearby refuge for a postponement.

Three walkers in the section, two adults and only one small type, had just arrived and spoke briefly before making the sprint return to my store. Having left the rain without a shirt, running frantically as, they probably thought it had a loose or ten screw. Once back in the store, he took a little time, but finally organized myself and dried underneath. Donna has been crushing it since she obtained those repairs in New York!
